Game Storyline:
I’ve always believed Leon has been the true protagonist of the Resident Evil series, but it’s been many years since we last saw him in a mainline title. With Requiem, he’s finally making his long-awaited return.

Based on footage shown in official trailers, Leon’s storyline is primarily combat-focused. He is equipped with a handgun as his primary weapon and an axe as his secondary. When engaging enemies, players can target specific body parts to trigger contextual melee finishers—allowing for instant takedowns that enhance both tactical depth and visceral impact.

In contrast, Grace’s route is more restrained, with her story unfolding within confined, restricted areas. She spends most of her time fleeing rather than initiating fights, often forced into combat against her will. Additionally, ammunition in Grace’s segments is deliberately scarce—a design choice clearly intended to emphasize evasion over confrontation, significantly heightening tension and survival pressure.
These two distinct narrative paths—Leon’s aggressive offense versus Grace’s desperate evasion—form the core dual-perspective structure of the game, delivering an experience that is simultaneously intense, suspenseful, and frightening.

Gameplay:
The game allows players to switch freely between first-person and third-person perspectives. Compared to the fully immersive first-person approach of recent entries, this flexibility offers longtime fans a chance to revisit the classic Resident Evil feel they know and love.

Three difficulty modes are available:
Casual
Relaxed while enjoying the story and puzzle.
Standard Modern
A balanced experience of suspense and accomplishment at the standard difficulty found among modern Resident Evil games.
This game mode can be changed to Casual on the game overscreen.

Standard Classic
A traditional experience with a difficulty similar to classic Resident evil games.
recommended for long-term fans of the series.
Autosaves during grace’s gameplay are limited and ink ribbons are required to save.
These options cater thoughtfully to a wide range of players—whether you’re new to the franchise or a veteran who’s followed it for decades—ensuring everyone can find a suitable way to experience the game.

Real-World Brand Collaborations:
Even the vehicle Leon drives in-game has been meticulously designed through an official collaboration with Porsche, the real-world luxury automotive brand.

Beyond the car, the game also features timepieces from Hamilton Watch Company. Both Leon and Grace wear watches from the same Hamilton collection, featuring bold and distinctive designs. Even more notably, these in-game watches will be available as real-world products: Hamilton will release a limited run of 2,000 units of the co-branded timepieces, launching simultaneously with the game.
Game Editions:
Standard Edition: Includes the base game and a pre-order bonus (Grace’s “Apocalypse” outfit).
Deluxe Edition: Includes everything in the Standard Edition, plus five character outfits, two visual filters, four weapon skins, two keychain charms, a music pack, and collectible document items.
Regardless of edition, there is no early access—all players will unlock the game simultaneously on February 27, 2026. (All bonus content is subject to final confirmation by the official publisher.)

In addition to digital content, physical merchandise will follow launch, including officially licensed figures of Leon and Grace, as well as a special Nintendo-themed controller—both highly anticipated by collectors.

As a longtime Resident Evil fan—though I haven’t played every single entry—I’ve experienced most of the mainline titles. I’ve noticed many players strongly prefer third-person perspective, but I’m quite the opposite: I deeply appreciate the immersive, cinematic intensity that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard delivered through its first-person viewpoint.
With this new installment, I’m not only looking forward to its atmospheric horror—I’m especially eager to see how the central narrative unfolds.
