Story Background: A Struggle Across Civilizations
The game follows a medieval man’s fight for survival and resistance during a full-scale alien invasion of Earth. After being abducted alongside his family and fellow villagers, the protagonist manages to escape an alien spacecraft with the help of a mysterious power.
He returns to Earth, bringing fragments of alien technology back with him. Upon learning that his family is still trapped on another ship and that Earth faces an unprecedented crisis, he resolutely embarks on a journey to rescue his loved ones and repel the invaders.
It is worth noting that Eclipse 2 is set in a completely fictional universe. While human civilization is at a “medieval” stage, this world possesses its own unique culture, art, and lifestyle.
Any atypical medieval technology or items appearing in the game are given logical explanations within the plot.

Core Gameplay: Skill-Oriented Dynamic Combat
The combat in Eclipse 2 emphasizes the use of active skills and ability combinations rather than relying solely on equipment stats.
The game encourages players to:
- Innovate Combat Strategies: Find effective ways to counter different types of enemies.
- Interact with the Environment: Utilize scene features and interactive objects to gain an advantage.
- Develop Skills: Unlock new abilities as the story progresses to expand combat possibilities.
World Design: A Semi-Open Exploration Experience
The game adopts a semi-open world design, offering vast, interconnected areas.
Locations are gradually unlocked as the story unfolds or as new skills are acquired. This design blends the joy of exploration with the fluid experience of a modern ARPG.

Demo Impressions
The game utilizes a fixed isometric perspective, meaning the camera cannot be freely rotated. Despite this, the visual composition and scene details are rich, ensuring the overall look never feels cramped.
The combat system is the true highlight of this title. Attacking, dodging, and releasing skills are highly responsive, making the controls feel very smooth. In addition to light and heavy weapon attacks, players can equip different skills that are unlocked using skill points gained as the character levels up.

Enemy difficulty is balanced. While some scenes allow you to kill enemies using environmental interactions, most battles still require a hands-on approach. For instance, rotating spike wheels in the environment can be used to lure enemies into taking massive damage. This adds a layer of strategy and relieves combat pressure.
The dodge mechanic is particularly useful, consuming very little stamina while effectively evading most attacks—a major boost to the action gameplay.
Many missions involve encounters with mini-bosses that have high health pools, so it is recommended to carry plenty of health potions before a fight. Furthermore, the game features an execution system: when an enemy’s health drops to a critical level, you may trigger an execution to finish them off instantly.
The mission guidance is clear. The map explicitly marks objective locations and provides text prompts, making it virtually impossible to get lost or stuck. This is a thoughtful touch for players who prefer focusing on the story rather than constant wandering.
In towns, you can accept quests from various NPCs. Completing these tasks rewards you with gold, which serves as your primary source of income. You can also earn money by selling loot at shops or by discovering treasure chests hidden throughout the map.

The equipment system uses a categorized design. Different rarities are distinguished by color and come with specific stat bonuses. Gear can be acquired through shops or by looting chests, and lower-quality items can be sold directly for profit.
Since the game is story-driven, it contains a significant amount of dialogue with NPCs. Fortunately, for those who prefer to keep moving, all dialogue can be skipped quickly.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the game performs well and features an intriguing world-building concept. The exploration of its semi-open world requires a genuine time investment to fully appreciate.
At the time of writing, a release date has not yet been announced, but a demo is currently available on Steam.
